James Patton
Patton, James L. serves on the Board of Directors for: Friendship Haven of Fort Dodge, a Senior Housing complex serving over 400 residents; the Ann Ringland-Smeltzer Trust, a philanthropic trust with over 1600 acres of farmland funding environmental, educational, historical and social programs; the Fort Dodge SCORE Chapter, consulting and advising small businesses and the Iowa Small Business Development Advisory Board. Patton received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Iowa State University in Agricultural Education. His professional career has included: teaching vocational agriculture at Odebolt and Sac City, Iowa; serving as an Ag Loan and Trust Officer at the Citizen's First National Bank of Storm Lake and as President and major stockholder of the National Bank of Rockwell City; directing the ISU/Webster Counter Extension and Outreach office and as a Regional Extension and Outreach Director for Hamilton, Humboldt, Webster and Wright counties. Patton was a founding board member for the Mid Iowa Development Corporation, a nine count economic development coalition. He has 35 years of membership and service to Rotary International, serving as District Governor and travelling to ten countries - visiting projects, programs and emerging leaders. He is currently retired and consulting: with entrepreneurs and international groups about agricultures in Iowa. His hobbies include teaching adults/youth, studying history, working on conservation projects and volunteering in the community.
